Initial appearances

Lyle I. Carrick, 18, River Falls, pleaded innocent and posted a $1,500 signature bond on a battery charge Feb. 5. The charge stemmed from a Feb. 2 incident in River Falls.

Shawn R. Frandrup, 32, Prescott, pleaded innocent and posted a $1,000 signature bond on resisting or obstructing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia charges Feb. 7. The charges resulted from a Feb. 6 incident in Ellsworth.

Michael P. Gale, 33, Inver Grove Heights, Minn., waived extradition to Dakota County, Minn., for failure to comply with probation requirements.

Ahdronemus D. Gooden, 37, Ellsworth, posted a $5,000 signature bond on a felony possession of methamphetamine charge Feb. 5. The charge stemmed from a Feb. 4 incident in the town of Trenton.

Lisa M. McCuen, 30, Elmwood, pleaded innocent and posted a $3,000 signature bond on a possess drug paraphernalia charge Feb. 6. The charge resulted from a Feb. 5 incident in Spring Valley.

Lizabeth J. Norton, 32, Maplewood, Minn., posted a $2,500 signature bond on felony possession of methamphetamine and possess drug paraphernalia charges Feb. 5. The charges stemmed from a Jan. 1 incident in the town of Trenton.

Melissa M. Schlichting, 37, Newport, Minn., posted a $5,000 signature bond on felony possession of methamphetamine and operate without valid license (second within three years) charges Feb. 6. The charges resulted from a Feb. 5 incident in the town of Trenton.

Closed cases

Nathan J. Beastrom, 41, Ellsworth, was convicted of felony burglary — building or dwelling, sentenced to two years of probation and fined $515 Feb. 5. Felony bail jumping and theft — movable property charges were dismissed. The charges stemmed from incidents Aug. 30, 2015 in the town of Gilman and July 19 in the town of Maiden Rock.

Darby S. Horstmann, 42, Hager City, was convicted of disorderly conduct and fine $210.80 Feb. 5. The charge resulted from a July 8 incident in the town of Trenton.

Jerome S. Kern, 31, Red Wing, Minn., was sentenced to 180 days in jail (52 days credit) and ordered to pay unpaid court obligations at a probation revocation hearing Feb. 6. He had been convicted of criminal damage to property Oct. 6, 2014. The charge stemmed from a Feb. 1, 2014 incident in Bay City.

Possession of THC and possess drug paraphernalia charges against Thomas J. Lavelle, 34, Mounds View, Minn., were dismissed Feb. 5. The charges resulted from a July 3 incident in the town of Trenton.

Michael B. O'Shaughnessy, 34, Crystal, Minn., was convicted of felony possession of methamphetamine, sentenced to two years of probation, fined $515 and ordered to pay $3,373.42 in joint restitution Feb. 5. Two felony bail jumping, two felony possession of methamphetamine, one felony burglary — building or dwelling (as party to a crime), one theft — movable property (as party to a crime) and three possess drug paraphernalia charges were dismissed. The charges stemmed from incidents May 16, June 28, and on and between July 2-5 in River Falls.

Operating while revoked (alcohol related) and possess drug paraphernalia charges against Jeffrey A. Walters, 32, New Richmond, were dismissed Feb. 6. The charges resulted from a July 18 incident in River Falls.

Deferred prosecution

Tanner S. Pierce, 28, Menomonie, pleaded guilty and entered a deferred judgment of conviction agreement on battery and endanger safety/use/dangerous weapon charges Feb. 5. A false imprisonment charge was dismissed. The charges stemmed from an April 14 incident in Elmwood.

John S. Raspotnik, 56, Ashland, was convicted of disorderly conduct and fined $443 Jan. 29. He also pleaded no contest to and entered a deferred judgment of conviction agreement on a battery charge. The charges resulted from an Aug. 5 incident in the town of Trimbelle.

Cherilyn M. Ronning, 43, River Falls, was convicted of disorderly conduct, sentenced to one year of probation and 14 days in jail, and fined $443 Feb. 5. She entered a deferred judgment of conviction agreement on a causing mental harm to child charge also.. The charges resulted from incidents on and between Oct. 17-18 in the town of River Falls.
