Register by Monday for special needs workshop
On Saturday, Nov. 1, the Cooperative Educational Services Agency (CESA)-11 Parent Liaisons, with a DAWN grant from the Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities, are offering a workshop, "Beyond the Basics: Taking a Closer Look at Adult Services, Sexuality and Relationships, Guardianship and Estate Planning and More..." School districts in Pierce County, including Ellsworth, are members of CESA-11.
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the CESA-11 Conference Center in Turtle Lake and lunch will be provided.
This free workshop will give participants an opportunity to learn, in more detail, about helping their children with special needs prepare for adulthood. Parents will also be given useful resource materials to take home with them. Presenters will include CESA-11 parent liaisons, statewide parent leaders and area attorney Joseph Earley, a specialist in estate planning. The topics covered will be most appropriate for families whose child may qualify for guardianship or who may need quite a bit of extra support in adulthood.
Register by next Monday by calling Barb Garling at 715-986-2020 or by e-mail at email@example.com.
