Ellsworth board and teachers okay another pact

For the second time in less than a month, the Ellsworth School Board has reached a contract agreement with the local teachers' union.

The latest pact is for the next school term and includes concessions from the teachers, according to Superintendent Barry Cain and several board members involved in the negotiations. It was approved at a special board meeting Friday.

"We wanted some stability in the district," Board Vice President Rick Kornmann said about this agreement for the 2011-12 term coming so soon after one reached with the teachers last month for the 2009-10 and 2010-11 terms.
