Pay hikes for Ellsworth school employees approved

Increases in pay for some employees were approved by the Ellsworth School Board Monday.

At the recommendation of the personnel committee, the board okayed a 2.5 percent salary increase for three categories of support staff. They are aides, bus drivers and directors/mechanical/superintendent office.

Superintendent Barry Cain placed the total cost of the increase for all of those employees to the district at $37,151. They had experienced a 5.9 percent reduction in their salaries last year, Cain said.
