Spring Valley High School wins silver from U.S. News, World Report
SPRING VALLEY--Out of the 21,035 schools reviewed for U.S. News and World Report's "Best High Schools in the United States" ranking, 113 Wisconsin schools made this year's list.
Spring Valley High School has been named a silver medal winner. There was one gold medal school, 46 silver medal schools and 66 bronze medal schools in the state.
SVHS is ranked 11th overall in Wisconsin. This puts the local school in the top six percent of high schools in the nation.
The following are the statistics for Spring Valley High: students/teachers, 18:1, larger than the Wisconsin average, 214 students, 12 teachers; college readiness, 27.8, above Wisconsin average, 32 percent tested (AP), 26 percent passed (AP); math, 3.3, above Wisconsin average, 93 percent proficient, seven percent not proficient; reading, 3.6, above Wisconsin average, 93 percent proficient, seven percent not proficient.
