Schachtner defeats Jarchow in special election

Maintenance, technology projects okayed by Ellsworth School Board

Proposed maintenance and technology projects were approved by the Ellsworth School Board Monday.

The maintenance proposals and their estimated costs are: roofing, middle school, $45,000, Prairie View, $3,000; asphalt/sidewalk, high school front parking lot, $7,000, Prairie View and Lindgren sidewalks, $2,000; bus garage/maintenance, purchase two new buses, $170,000, purchase two used vehicles for staff and student travel, $20,000, trade-in tractor to maintain warranty on equipment, $4,000, add six new bus cameras, $10,800, replace two overhead doors in cold storage area, $5,400; pool, cost to be determined after dome is taken down; middle school, energy management system, $8,648, backup generator, cost to be determined; high school, energy management system, $17,850, domestic hot water system, $22,243, visitor side portable bleachers, $10,000; other projects, elementary school desk replacement, $30,000, carpeting of six-to-eight classrooms as needed, $18,000 to $24,000.
