Ellsworth educator may not have taught, but for big dose of farming
His father may have been the patient, but Dennis Olson got "cured" of farming while filling in for the ailing head of his family.
Today, although Olson lives on a 40-acre hobby farm where he raises crops, the operation doesn't represent his main livelihood. That's been teaching, from which he's retiring at the end of this school term.
"I liked it...I'm glad I chose it," he said Thursday of the career as an educator he's had for the past 34 years.
