Ellsworth FFA Alumni holds membership drive
The Ellsworth FFA Alumni Chapter is currently looking for new members! Ellsworth is a large agricultural community and the FFA Alumni organization is a huge supporter of this lifestyle.
The Ellsworth FFA Alumni is a non-profit organization created to secure the promise of an agricultural education by creating an environment where people and communities can develop their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success. FFA members develop pride, a strong sense of loyalty, a thorough understanding of the free-enterprise system and profit orientation.
This year, the Ellsworth FFA Alumni will host the 10th annual “Showdown in Curd Town” truck and tractor pull! The major event will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 7. This pull is in conjunction with the National Tractor Pullers Association.
Each year, the organization is responsible for distributing an average of $2,500 in scholarships at Ellsworth High School and to post-secondary students. These scholarships are awarded to students who have been involved in agriculture and in the high school FFA chapter, and are planning to continue their education in agriculture in some form. Also, the FFA alumni give donations to the local FFA chapter and the local school district each year. Because of the support received from area communities, the chapter was able to give back to area FFA chapters as well.
Join the organization! Being a farmer isn’t necessary, just a belief in the future of agriculture in the community and in its youth!
