Hinrichs receives Agricultural award

PLUM CITY – Cora Hinrichs was recently presented Plum City School District’s highest agricultural honor, the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award, sponsored by Monsanto Company.

Hinrichs, the daughter of Darrell and Sarah Hinrichs, received the award for excellence in academics, leadership and agricultural work experience. Hinrichs’ experiences and accomplishments have included speaking contest, third place in Creed and Discussion along with another second place in Discussion. She was also Plum City’s FFA Chapter Reporter in 2012-13 and Vice-President this year.

Scott Imrie is Hinrichs’ agricultural education instructor at Plum City.

This year, the DEKALB Agricultural Accomplishment Award celebrates its 67th anniversary. Over these 67 years, more than 168,000 high school seniors from across the country have received the Award, which has become a symbol for excellence and the school’s highest agricultural honor.

As the winner of the 2014 award, Hinrichs’ name will be recorded on a permanent plaque displayed at Plum city High School.
