STEP volunteers honored at breakfast

The letter winners include seven seniors and three juniors. These students had to complete a senior capstone project in order to letter, along with 50 hours of service, but a number had over 100 hours. The capstone projects included the Senior Citizen Prom, Diva Dudes and two Dodgeball Tournaments. These were projects that were student run and organized. The final project is a teaching project done by two students interested in becoming elementary students. 1 / 2

On May 20, a STEP (Senior Tax Exchange Program) appreciation breakfast was held in the Ellsworth High School Cafetorium.

All the STEP volunteers were honored, along with two elementary students, one middle school student and 10 high school students (three juniors and seven seniors) who received a letter for service this year.  

STEP is a program allowing senior citizens at least age 62 to volunteer in the local schools and, in return, receive up to $500 toward their local school property taxes.
