Elmwood Board approves staff hires

ELMWOOD--The Elmwood School Board approved the hire of three teachers recently. 

Dan Larson was named as the Business/Marketing Education Teacher/Technology Coach, Dan Soules was approved as the High School Math and Physics teacher, while Zack Gilles will be a Middle School Math and Social Studies teacher.

The school district has Spanish teacher and Sign Language Interpreter vacancies left to fill.

The board also:

--Heard from Superintendent Paul Blanford about the remodeling of the school bathrooms and the state championship won by the school’s Clay Target League.

--Approved stipends of $1,000 for Jeff Pickerign, as he was the Science Olympiad and Clay Target Coach.

--Approved open enrollment applications for the 2014-15 school year. Five students open enrolled in, while seven will leave.

--Approved the renewal of the softball cooperative agreement with Plum City.

Jason Schulte is a reporter for the New Richmond News since February 2015. Prior to that he spent eight years at the Pierce County Herald in Ellsworth. His duties with the News will include covering news out of Hammond and Roberts along with action from St. Croix County court system. He lives in Roberts.
