St. Joseph Parish School participated in the fourth annual Great Lakes Apple Crunch on Oct. 12. They joined over 250,000 students, food service staff, children, teachers and community members who also "crunched" at exactly the same time in over 1,000 different locations across the state.

St. Joseph Parish School students, grades K-6, gathered in the gym with a delicious honey crisp apple in hand. They greeted the farmers who harvested the apples and sang an apple song. At the end of the song, the whole school took a bite of their apple at the same time, crunching all at once.

For the second year in a row, the St. Joseph Parish School Food Service Manager Susan Brantner teamed up with Josh and Jessie Hiniker, managers at Prescott's local farm, From the Ground Up Farms, LLC, to provide the school with fresh apples to crunch.
