Kiwanis Student of the Week: George Wazlawik
Prescott High School senior George Wazlawik is the Dec. 13 Prescott Kiwanis Student of the Week. He was nominated by math teacher Bryce McCauley, who said "I have chosen George as the student of the week because of his positive attitude and hard work in the math classroom. As a senior, George is taking AP Calculus where he is an active participant who is always ready for class and willing to help others. In addition, he has done some volunteering during Cardinal Time to help tutor students that need extra support in math. He is a student that will be a successful leader himself, but in addition, he is using his time at PHS to help develop other successful future leaders. Keep up the great work, George!"
Wazlawik is the son of Jim and Jenny Wazlawik. The honor roll student is a member of the marching band, Ski Club, Pre-Med Club and the golf team. He works as a personal care attendant for his younger brother with special needs. He enjoys hiking, climbing, biking, swimming, skiing and camping.
He plans to attend a four-year college with a strong STEM focus. He is interested in majoring in biology, chemistry, physics and engineering.
