Michael J. Simones, 60

Michael J. Simones was born on Aug. 18, 1956 and was sent home to his Heavenly Father on Aug. 7, 2017.

The sudden passing of Mike has been a devastating loss as he was truly one of a kind. The memories he left behind are enough to last a lifetime and will never be forgotten. He has made an impact on countless family members, friends, and in the broader community. Mike was a great father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, friend, and family man. He left behind four beautiful daughters who were his entire world.

Mike was one of the most genuine and loving people you will ever meet. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need because his heart was made of gold. If you ever needed to talk to someone, Mike was the person you would go to. He would listen with full attention and genuinely care about your well-being. Mike lived his life like no one was watching and his goofy personality was contagious. Just seeing him walk in the room would bring smiles to everybody's faces. He truly lit up any space he entered.

Mike grew up in Prescott, Wis., with his parents, Fred and Joanne, and his four siblings Mark, Matt, Gretchen, and Fred. He attended Prescott schools where he loved playing and watching sports. He showed an interest in history and mathematics. After high school, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. He married Peggy Livingston and they became the proud business owners of Price Rite Liquors for 30 years. Mike enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and attending football games at the one and only Lambeau Field. He was passionate about golfing and his favorite golf event was the Masters, although you could always find him in front of his TV watching any sporting event. Mike lived a very simple life, always finding joy in the little things. This wonderful and varied legacy will be carried on by the many people who loved him.

Even in death Mike continued to give. He has now impacted multiple lives by donation of his organs upon his passing. This act of kindness is a reflection of his overall generosity. In honor of this impactful decision that Mike made, we ask that you direct any donations to LifeSource in Minneapolis, Minn., or St. Joseph Parish School in Prescott.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Joanne Simones.

He is survived by his daughters, Natalie (Neal) Swanson, Christina (Jeff) Feltes, Brittany (Travis) Randolph and Victoria Simones; his grandchildren, Lyla, Charlie, Vera, Beckam, Thomas, and number six due in October; his four siblings, Mark (Libby) Simones, Matt Simones, Gretchen Simones, and Fred Simones; eight nieces and nephews, Ryan Simones, Emily (Michael) Simones, Peter Simones, Mikyla Simones, Zachary Simones, Billy Simones, Mallorie Simones, and Amy Simones; his former spouse and mother of their children, Peggy (Michael) Simones-Weber; and his sister-in-law, Keri Simones.
