Live stream of the Hastings Bridge
Work to move the 545-foot main span of the new Hastings bridge is under way.
Save this page to get live streaming video of the move as it happens. In addition, you can check back here to see still photos and a time-lapse video we are compiling. If you take photos you want us to add to the gallery, email them to editor Chad Richardson: firstname.lastname@example.org. If you are on twitter, tag your photos #hastingsbridge and we can grab those, too.
The span is the longest tied arch bridge with a free-standing rib in the western hemisphere.
Once the span is in place, there will still be considerable work remaining, but by May of 2013, one lane of traffic in each direction will be routed onto the new bridge.
