Glenwood City wins late matches to beat SVE 52-20

SPRING VALLEY - In front of a big crowd at Spring Valley High School, the Glenwood City wrestling team turned around a 20-12 deficit to beat Spring Valley-Elmwoood 52-20 Thursday.

The meet started at 103 pounds and the Redbirds, 7-3 overall, 1-2 in the Dunn-St. Croix, won four out of the first six matches to build a 20-12 lead on the Hilltoppers. Winning for SV-Elmwood were Brady Webb at 103, Nick Berg at 112, Robert Trealoff by pinfall and Jon Newton by technical fall at 130 and 135 respectively

But GC won all of the remaining matches, five by pinfall.

Spring Valley-Elmwood is on the road Saturday at the Shell Lake Duals Challenge.
