Season finale goes to Cardinals 53-39 over Panthers

Foul trouble and a bad second second quarter lifted Prescott High School's boy's basketball team to win over Hwy. 10 rival Ellsworth Friday at Ellsworth.

Prescott dominated the post play. Cardinal center Chris Krech scored eight points and PHS sank more free-throws (20) than Ellsworth even attempted (10) by penetrating the lane and collecting fouls.

Trevor Steger led Prescott with 11 points, including a dunk. Jimmy Miska scored 18 points for EHS while Josh Fuchs and Travis Kroll each had six points.

The win evened Prescott's overall record at 11-11 before heading into regional tournament play Tuesday at Glenwood City. Ellsworth concludes its season at 2-20 overall and plays at Baldwin-Woodville Tuesday in first round action.
