Blues lose in state quarterfinals

TOMAHAWK - The Plum City Blues were beaten in extra innings in the quarterfinals of the Wisconsin Baseball Association state tournament Saturday.

Plum City lost to the Haugen Knights 2-1 in 10 innings. Haugen is playing in the state finals for the second straight season and they will face Onalaska Sunday afternoon.

In other tournament games involving St. Croix Valley League teams, River Falls won its first game, 5-0, over Everest Friday but lost 16-0 to Onalaska in the semifinals Saturday.

Osceola was beaten 8-1 by Sparta in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
