Campbell, Stoesz finish 2-3 in MBC links meet

HAMMOND - Shannon Campbell's score of 89 propelled and Courtney Stoesz's score of 90 the Ellsworth High School golfers to the All-Middle Border Conference team at the league meet Monday.

Campbell's score put her in second place behind meet medalist Casey Danielson. The Osceola sophomore won the MBC meet and individual titles for the second season in a row. Danielson shot a 76 on the Pheasant Hills Golf Course. Stoesz shot a 90 to finish tied with New Richmond's Leah Bauer.

Campbell made the All-MBC first team and Stoesz made the second team. They helped the Panthers obtain their lowest 18-hole score of the season with a 387, good for third place in the meet and in the overall league standings. New Richmond won the meet with a score of 370 and wrapped up the MBC title, its first since 2004 and fourth in school history.

Ellsworth is back in action Wednesday in the WIAA Division 2 Osceola Regional meet at Krooked Kreek Golf Course in Osceola.
