PLUM CITY - A 14-5 run the second half propelled the Spring Valley High School girls basketball team to its first win of the season Tuesday, 34-25 over Plum City.

The contest was tied 20-20 in the middle of the third quarter when the Blue Devils went on a long, long scoring drought, not hitting a basket until the 1:28 mark of the fourth quarter. In this time period the Cardinals went in front 32-20.

"We played with consistent effort the entire game and were patient on offense, getting good shots and not committing turnovers," SV head coach Dan Stasiek said.

Riley Harrison led Valley in scoring with nine points. PC's Heather Von Holtum led all scorers with 14 points.

The Cards are 1-13 overall while the Devils are still searching for their first win of the season, now 0-11 overall.
