WBA playoff pairings announced

Pierce County teams Prescott, Ellsworth and River Falls have all received their assignments for the 2012 Wisconsin Baseball Association playoffs.

Defending champion River Falls and Ellsworth will both be in Osceola and both are on a collision course. No. 3 seeded Ellsworth plays the No. 2 seed Eau Claire Bears Saturday at 2 p.m. and following that game No. 1 River Falls plays No. 4 Bruce. If both River Falls and Ellsworth win they will square off Sunday at 3 p.m. at Okey Park.

No. 1 seeded Prescott meanwhile, is in Hayward and their first game is at 4:30 p.m. Saturday against Taylor County. If they win they will face either the host Hawks or the Twin Ports North Stars Sunday at 3 p.m.

The state tournament is Aug. 17-19 in Osseo.
