Prescott, Spring Valley compete at Amery Invite

AMERY - The Prescott and Spring Valley prep track and field teams competed at the rescheduled Amery Invitational Wednesday.

Spring Valley's Zac Webster and Julian Manley continued to win events for the Cardinal boys' team. Manley won the mile run in 4:45.56 and Webster won both the long jump in 20 feet, four inches and the triple jump at 45-0.

Prescott's Nick Jacobsen won the shot put with a toss of 49 feet and teammate Sam Smith won the 400-meter dash in :50.13. Cole Hauenstein won the 800-meter run in 2:00.10 and teammate Troy Urman placed second. Jacobsen also finished second in the discus. PHS also won the 1600 and 3200-meter relays. Their winning times were 3:34.86 and 8:22.49

Prescott's Victoria Simones was a double winner in Wednesday meet. She won the 800-meter run in 2:28.95 and the 1600-meter run in 5:24.28. She also helped PHS's 3200-meter relay team win in 10:03.09. This time is the 10th best in the state in all divisions.

Prescott's boys team finished behind Somerset and Spring Valley was fourth. PHS girls team placed fifth and Spring Valley finished seventh out of nine teams.
