EPC track teams finish third in meet at Boyceville

BOYCEVILLE - The Elmwood/Plum City track and field teams competed in Dunn-St. Croix/Lakeland Conference challenge through the wind and rain Thursday. Both EPC teams finished third in their eight team field dominated by the D-SC.

Elk Mound won both the boys and girls titles and Dunn-St. Croix squads Mondovi, EPC and Boyceville held down the top four spots.

EPC's distance relay teams dominated the meet. The girls 1600 and 3200-meter teams won in times of 4:35.30 and 10:51.81 respectively. Members of the winning mile team included Sarah Gilles, Libby Feuker, Kaitlyn Lee and Elaina Danzinger. Members of the winning two-mile relay team are Fueker, Lee, Danzinger and Paige Binkowski. EPC did the same in the boys' meet with the 1600-meter relay team winning in 3:45.66 and the 3200 squad winning in 8:52.86. Members of the winning mile relay team were Kyle Webb, Seth Jones, Tristan Bagley and Hogan Kernstock. The 3200-meter team members are Jones, Webb, Hunter Schoengarth and Peter Fenter.

Gilles was an individual winner for EPC in the 100-meter high hurdles in :17.12 and the 300-meter low hurdles in :50.96. She also won the triple jump with a mark of 32-6. Webb won the 400-meter dash in :54.13. Schoengarth took the 800-meter run in 2:13.84 and Jones and teammate Andrew Gilles were 1-2 in the mile run with time of 5:03.58 and 5:06.50.
