EHS clinches tie for MBC baseball title

HAGER CITY - Six of Ellsworth's 14 hits went for extra innings as the fourth-ranked Panthers cruised to a 12-1 five-inning victory over Osceola in Middle Border Conference play Tuesday at Brown Field.

The win clinches a tie for the MBC title for the Panthers. It's their first since 2010 and ninth in school history.

Tyler Koller belted a triple, while Chandler Flynn had a pair of doubles for Ellsworth. Nick Taranto, James Georgakas and Logan Armstrong each reached second. Armstrong drove in four runs, while Isaac Hines and Koller each tallied two RBIs apiece in the Panthers' victory.

Isaac Hines took to the mound on Tuesday, striking out six for the victory.

The Panthers (11-1) finishes out the MBC portion of its schedule on Thursday at Prescott.
