Four Falcons All-WIAC football

Four Falcons have been named to the 2010 All-WIAC football team picked by the league coaches.

Halfbacks Taylor Edwards and Greg Klingelhutz were both named to the first offensive team and offensive lineman Joe Gotmer earned honorable mention while defensive back Keith Lofgren earned honorable mention to the defensive unit.

Edwards, a 6-foot, 1-inch, 208-pound junior from Janesville, rushed for 1,061 yards and six touchdowns this year. He finished second in rushing and ninth in total offense in the WIAC. In his two-year career with the Falcons he has rushed for 2,137 yards and 15 touchdowns. He was named to the 2009 All-WIAC second team.

Klingelhutz, a 5-9, 188-pound junior from Chanhassen, Minn., was named to the All-WIAC team as an all-purpose back. He set a NCAA Division III kickoff return record by returning for 1,017 yards in 2010. No other player in the history of Division III football has ever returned for over 1,000 yards.

Klinglehutz also tied the NCAA record with 49 returns in a season. He was second in the WIAC in all-purpose yards with 1,490 yards. He rushed for 253 yards, had 141 receiving yards and 79 punt return yards to go along with his kickoff return yards.

In his career he has 2,223 kick off return yards and averages 21.3 yards per return. He was named to the first All-WIAC team in 2009 as a return specialist.

Gotmer started every game in the Falcon offensive line in 2010. The 6-1, 270 pound junior from Hayward has started all but one game in his Falcon career.

Lofgren, 6-0, 202 pounds, started all 10 games for the Falcons in 2010. He finished with 31 solo and 48 total tackles. The senior from Esko, Minn., had one interception and led the team with seven passes defended, fourth best in the WIAC.
