Bombers win key game over Osceola

BAY CITY - Bay City topped Osceola 4-1 at Hortenbach Park Sunday and kept themselves in contention for a division title.

The Bombers held s slight 1-0 lead until the seventh inning when Steve Bowe clobbered a bases loaded double into centerfield that brought home three runs.

The Braves plated a run in the eighth but the Bombers held their end up thanks to relief pitcher Cole Kuesel earning the save and right fielder Bump Ulvenes catching three fly balls in Osceola's last at bat.

Although BC lost to Prescott Saturday, their win over the Braves puts them at 5-1 in the St. Croix Division which is a half-game out of first place. Prescott is 6-1 and Ellsworth is 4-2 in league play.

BC has big games in its division coming up this weekend, at home vs. Ellsworth Saturday and at Hager City Sunday. Both starting times are at 1 p.m.
