Packes to begin new security policy on Family Night

The Green Bay Packers will begin their new Lambeau Field security policy on the August third Family Night. And you might not have to leave your seat cushion at home after all. Team security director Doug Collins says seat backs and pads that are fully enclosed will still be allowed into the stadium. Cushions with pockets will not be allowed – and neither will those where something can be hidden inside. NFL team owners approved the security changes for all its teams in the weeks after the Boston Marathon bombings that killed three people. Collins says bags will need to be transparent to be carried in. Those with medical needs will have a specific gate where accommodations will be made. When training camp begins next month, fans can see a full demonstration of a gate entrance with the new policies. Signs will be posted in the parking lots, and season-ticket holders will get e-mail reminders of the new rules.
