MINNESOTA SPORTS ROUNDUP: Marlins take advantage of three Twins errors to win 4-2

MIAMI --  Miami's Marcell Ozuna went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI to lead the Marlins in a 4-2 win over the Twins in Miami last night. Derek Dietrich added a solo homer while Logan Morrison was 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Fish. A.J. Ramos picked up the win in relief for Miami, which has won four out of five. Steve Cishek recorded his 13th save in the win. Josh Willingham and Trevor Plouffe each drove in a run for Minnesota, which has dropped three of its last four. Kevin Correia tossed six innings of two-run ball but was saddled with the loss. The same two teams play this morning at 11:40 a.m. to wrap up their brief, two-game series. 


The Twins wrap up their two-game interleague series with the Marlins today in Miami. Scott Diamond will take the mound for Minnesota. He is 5-and-6 with a 5.27 ERA in 13 starts this season. The Fish will counter with Tom Koehler, who is 1-and-5 with a 4.65 ERA. After tonight's 11:40 a.m. game, the Twins will return home for an eight-game homestand against the Royals and Yankees. 


The Minnesota Timberwolves will play a regular season NBA game in Mexico City next season. The Wolves have given up a home game at Target Center for a game against the San Antonio Spurs to be played in Mexico City on December 4th. The game is part of the NBA Global Games schedule that now includes 12 NBA teams playing in eight international cities in six countries. Other NBA games involving other NBA teams will take place in England, Brazil, the Philippines, China, Turkey, and Japan. 


 The next head coach of the NBA Memphis Grizzlies is expected to be Staples, Minnesota native David Joerger. Joerger has been an assistant coach with Memphis since 2007. Prior to that, he was a head coach for the NBA D-League's Dakota Wizards and for the CBA's Sioux Falls Sky Force. He played college basketball at both Concordia-Moorhead and Moorhead State. He will take over for Lionel Hollins, who chose to leave the Grizzlies after the season. Lionel Hollins is the father of current Golden Gopher basketball player Austin Hollins.
