TULSA, Okla. (Sports Network) - Lindsay Whalen and Rebekkah Brunson each posted impressive double-doubles as the Minnesota Lynx handled the Tulsa Shock with an 86-75 victory on Saturday.

Whalen scored 25 points to go with 11 assists and Brunson poured in 17 points while grabbing 12 boards in Minnesota's fourth straight win, three of which have come by double-digits. Maya Moore added 22 points for the Lynx in shooting 8-of-14 from the field. The Shock, losers of six straight, received 22 points from Riquna Williams. Nicole Powell scored 16 and Liz Cambage tallied 13 points in the setback. Tulsa shot just 39 percent from the field. An 11-0 run for Minnesota in the first opened up an early 15-point edge for the visitors. A layup from Williams with under four minutes left in the second had the Shock within six, but a 10-2 run for the Lynx gave them a 51-37 edge at the break. Minnesota led by double-digits the entire second half and by as many as 22 points.

The Minnesota Twins used the long ball to snap a six-game losing streak. Trevor Plouffe, Ryan Doumit and Pedro Florimon each homered off New York starter Phil Hughes in Saturday's 4-1 win at Yankee Stadium. Samuel Deduno (5-4) limited the Yankees to one run on six hits and three walks in seven strong innings. After the clubs traded runs early, Deduno and Hughes (4-9) settled into a pitchers' duel. The score remained tied until the seventh, when Doumit hit a line drive to right field for a solo blast. Florimon launched a two-run shot to right in the next frame, the fifth and final hit off Hughes, who matched a career-high with 10 strikeouts while tossing 7 1/3 innings. The home run by Florimon came after Gardenhire was ejected for arguing a runner's interference call. Deduno gave way to the bullpen after pitching out of a seventh-inning jam. New York got a pinch-hit double from Travis Hafner, but stranded pinch-runner Eduardo Nunez at third. Casey Fien turned the Yankees away in the eighth and Glen Perkins closed the door in the ninth for his 21st save of the season.
