PHS golfers take fifth at Somerset Invitational

SOMERSET - The Prescott High School girls' golf team had another solid showing to start its 2013 season.

The Cardinals took fifth place out of 12 teams at the Somerset Invitational Tuesday at Bristol Ridge Golf Course.

PHS had four consistent scores in the 110-125 strokes range. Megan Westberg had Prescott's lowest score with a 112 with teammates Courtney Brinker shooting a 113, Alanah Nelson 121 and McKenzie Willner 124.  Jennifer Kleinschmidt shot a 147.

New Richmond won the meet with the low score of 365 followed by Osceola 413, Eau Claire Regis 417, Stanley-Boyd 426, Prescott 470, Somerset 483, St. Croix Central 483, New Richmond JV's 509, St. Croix Falls 561, Baldwin-Woodville 562 and Amery 629 and Colfax INC. Meet medalist was New Richmond's Alex Wheeler with an 85. Her temmate Hannah Baker shot an 89 and Colfax's Whitney DeMoe shot an 90. 

Prescott's first Middle Border Conference meet is tomorrow at Pheasant Hills Golf Course in Hammond hosted by Baldwin-Woodville.
