MENOMONIE - Jessop Keene was named by the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) as the Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.

Keene, who went to high school at Prescott, transferred from UWRF to Stout this school year. He is in his senior year of eligibility. His home is in the Ellsworth area.

In running his first race for UW-Stout, Keene<> set a personal best and won the UW-River Falls Falcon Invitational on Sept. 14 at the Kilkarney Hills Golf Course. 

Jessop won the event by almost 10 seconds, clocking a time of 25:05.8.  The second-place finisher came in at 25:15.2. As a team, the Blue Devils placed third out of six teams.
