Prescott golfers take second at Luck Invite (Update: State rankings link included)

Prescott golfers display the awards won at the Luck/Unity Invitational Wednesday.

LUCK - The Prescott HIgh School girls' golf team had its highest meet finish not only of the season but in school history Wednesday at the Luck/Unity Invitational at the Luck Golf Course.

The Cardinals, playing only their second 18-hole meet of the season, shot a combined 441, finishing behind only Osceola, who wound up with a 398.

Prescott's Megan Westerberg had her highest meet finish as well, shooting a 95. Teammate McKenzie Willner finished sixth with a score of 107 and PHS's Lauren Hintz also made the top 10 by shooting a 113 and taking eighth place. Other Prescott scores were Autumn Schlecht, 126 and Stephanie Fleming 149.

Osceola's Tianna Anderson was the meet medalist shooting a 92.

Ellsworth finished seventh in the meet shooting a 662. It was the Panthers' first 18-hole event this season. Both Kacie Lansing and Sophia Derleth shot 130s to lead EHS.

The Luck Golf Course will be the site of the WIAA Division 2 regional meet both Pierce County teams will participate in on Oct. 2

The official Middle Border Conference meet will be next Thursday in Osceola at Krooked Kreek Golf Course starting a 9 a.m.
