MINNESOTA SPORTS ROUND-UP: T-Wolves win third straight

SALT LAKE CITY, UT ( - Kevin Love recorded his first career triple-double with 37 points, 12 rebounds and a career-high 10 assists in Minnesota's 121-104 domination of the Utah Jazz.

Love, who had 42 points and 16 rebounds in a win against Indiana on Wednesday, made 6-of-10 3-point shots against the Jazz. Love had his fourth straight 30-plus point game, equaling Kevin Garnett's franchise record. Love extended his 25-plus point/10-plus rebound string to nine games, which is the longest streak since Karl Malone had 10 of those games during the 1991-92 season. Ricky Rubio added 15 points and seven assists, while Chase Budinger and Corey Brewer both scored 13 in Minnesota's third straight win, which equals a season-best. 


Sam Thompson scored 16 of his game-high 19 points in the second half to help No. 24 Ohio State roll past Minnesota, 64-46, at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus. Lenzelle Smith Jr. added 13 points and Shannon Scott scored 10 for the Buckeyes (22-6, 9-6 Big Ten), winners in three straight and six of their last seven overall. Andre Hollins scored 13 points and DeAndre Mathieu chipped in with 12 points for the Golden Gophers (17-11, 6-9), who have dropped three of four. Mathieu's layup less than a minute into the second half put Minnesota up 30-18, but Ohio State would open a 27-5 run to take a 45-35 lead. Thompson, who ended the run with a slam, scored 12 points during the burst. OSU out scored the Golden Gophers 46-18 in the second half after the U took a 28-18 lead at halftime.


The No. 1 University of Minnesota woman's hockey team completed its regular season with another 6-0 blanking of Minnesota-Duluth Saturday at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis.  Dani Cameranesi had a goal and an assist for the U and teammate Hannah Brandt finished with three assists. Rachel Ramsey finished with a goal and two assists. Gopher goalie Amanda Leveille finished with 10 saves. Minnesota scored four power play goals. The Gophers' finishing record is 26-1-1 in the WCHA, 32-1-1 overall. Minnesota will host St. Cloud State next weekend in the first round of the WCHA playoffs.
