Last night's game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins at Target Field was postponed due to rain, snow and cold temperatures.  The game has been rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader today.  The original game will still start at 12:10 p.m., with the makeup at 6:10 p.m.  Twins fans holding tickets to last evening's postponed game, can either use them for tonight's game, or return them for use in another home game in comparable seats.

The NBA shifts focus to the playoffs after Wednesday's games completed the regular season.  The postseason opens Saturday afternoon with the Nets and Raptors.  The three-six matchup in the West follows with the Clippers and Warriors.  The Spurs are the top seed in the West and play the Mavericks starting Sunday while the top-seeded Pacers meet the Hawks Saturday night in the Eastern Conference.

The Minnesota Lynx are executing a sign-and-trade deal that sends guard Sugar Rodgers to the New York Liberty for the right to swap third-round draft picks next year.  Rodgers was selected by the Lynx in the second round of the 2013 WNBA Draft.  She played in 28 games during her rookie campaign, averaging 1.9 points and 1.4 rebounds.  In addition, the Lynx signed free agent guard Tan White, who averaged nine-points-per-game last year for the WNBA Connecticut Sun.

Football players at Minnesota State-Mankato refused to practice for their former and now current head coach Todd Hoffner yesterday.  The team greeted the reinstated coach by demanding that the interim coach Aaron Keen keep the top job.  Hoffner returned to campus for the first time since the arbitrator ruled he was fired unfairly last year in the wake of a child porn investigation that ultimately cleared him.  Hoffner agreed to become the head coach at Minot State over 75-days ago before leaving for his old job following the ruling.  MSU-Mankato athletic director Kevin Buisman will meet with players and the coaching staff this morning.

The New York Giants are adding some depth at quarterback.  Multiple reports say Josh Freeman has agreed to a one-year deal with the "G-Men."  The 26-year-old was a starter for four seasons with Tampa Bay, but was released by the Bucs after playing in just three games last year.  Freeman was then signed by the Vikings, but played in just one game with Minnesota.

Multiple sources have confirmed that wide receiver Sidney Rice will sign a one-year deal to return to the Seahawks six weeks after the team released him.  The seven-year vet caught 15 passes for 231 yards and three touchdowns in eight games last season before being shelfed for the rest of the year with a torn ACL.  He met with the Jets yesterday.  Rice began his career with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Minnesota Wild begin their opening round playoff series with the Colorado Avalanche tonight in Denver.  The Wild earned the first Wild Card spot in the West with 98 points.  The Avs won the Central Division with 112 points.  Game Two is also in Denver on Saturday, with Games Three and Four in St. Paul next Monday and Thursday, respectively.  Wild forward Zach Parise says the team must maintain puck possession as much as possible in order to win the series.  Tonight's game begins at 8:30 a.m.  Meanwhile, Minnesota assigned forward Jake Dowell back to AHL Iowa yesterday.

The Penguins, Canadiens and Ducks are all up 1-0 in their respective Stanley Cup Playoffs First Round series.  The Pens dropped the Blue Jackets 4-3.  The Habs won 5-4 in overtime against the Lightning.  The Ducks held on for a 4-3 win over the Stars.  There are four Game Ones on tap tonight.
