Eagles make it easy at Seton Hall
The Marquette men's basketball team got an easy win at Seton Hall Tuesday night, 89-64.
The Pirates went seven minutes without scoring in the first half, while the Golden Eagles built up a double-digit lead they never relinquished.
Marquette out-rebounded Seton Hall 43-29 and they out-scored the Pirates 32-20 in the paint. They also had a 20-to-9 edge in fast break points.
Sophomore Lazar Hayward tied a career-high with 23 points, with nine rebounds. Jeremy Hazell had 18 for Seton Hall, which dropped to 5-7 in the Big East and 15-10 overall.
Jamar Nutter was ejected midway through the second half, for elbowing the throat of Marquette guard Dominic James.
Marquette, which dropped out of the Associated Press' Top 25 this week, remains sixth in the Big East. They're now 7-5 in the Big East and 17-6 overall.
The Eagles will host Pittsburgh on Friday night.
