Ellsworth beats Hager City 10-5

The Ellsworth Hubbers amateur baseball team downed the Hager City Skeeters 10-5 in a St. Croix Valley League baseball game Friday evening at Young Field in Ellsworth.

The Skeeters led 1-0 through three and a half innings but the Hubbers started plating runs in the fifthj and just kept on going. They scored nine combined from the fifth through the eighth.

Sean Corey led the Hubbers with three hits while Lance Murphy had two. Jordan Zimmer had two RBIs for the home team. The winning pitcher was Mitch Johnson.

HC and Ellsworth were roughly even when it came to hits but (The Hubs' outhit the Skeets' 13-11) but Hager City hurt itself with errors, committing four to Ellsworth's none.

The Skeeters' Tyler Regnier led all batters with four hits. Elliot Foley drove in two runs and Bryan Early also had an RBI. 

The win improves Ellsworth's SCVL record to 9-4 while Hager City is now 3-9 in the league.
