Levi Wolf and Autumn Schlecht were named Pierce County Herald's first Athletes of the Week for the 2013 prep sports season.

Wolf, a junior, was a one-man wrecking machine for Elmwood/Plum City's football team as they won an exciting ballgame at Frederic last week 20-13. As the Wolves starting quarterback, Wolf threw for 147 yards and rushed for 165 for a total of 312 yards of total offense alone. He threw a touchdown pass, scored on a 77-yard run from scrimmage and to top it all off he score the game's winning touchdown on a 46-yard fumble recovery with :33 seconds left in the contest. He also led the team in tackles with nine.

Schlecht, a junior golfer for Prescott, had a high school best score of 52 to finish seventh in a Middle Border Conference meet at Pheasant Hills Golf Course in Hammond. It was her first varsity meet.

Athletes of the week from schools across Pierce County, boys and girls, will be chosen throughout the prep sports season. The award is sponsored by State Farm Insurance of Ellsworth.
