In girls golf, the MBC scheduled back-to-back meets this week yesterday in New Richmond and today in Hammond hosted by St. Croix Central at the Hammond Golf Course starting at 4 p.m. In yesterday's meet Prescott finished fourth with a score of 214 while Ellsworth took sixth with a nine-hole score of 259.  New Richmond again won another team title and halfway through the league season has a hold on first place with 40 points followed by Osceola 36, Somerset 30, Prescott 28, St. Croix Central 26, Baldwin-Woodville 18, Ellsworth 17 and Amery 13 points.  NR has three of the top players in the conference led by Megan Chelberg, who leads individually with 40 points followed by Alex Wheeler with 38 and Hannah Baker with 28. At the halfway point of the season, Prescott's Megan Westeberg is on the all-conference team as she sits in ninth place with 16 individual points. Her teammate McKenzie Willner is in 12th place with nine points and Autumn Schlecht is 19th with four points.

Prescott will be hosting its lone home meet of the season next Tuesday at Clifton Heights Golf Course starting at 4 p.m. MBC teams will play at Somerset next Thursday and on Sept. 16 will be Ellsworth's turn to host a conference meet.

Conference play doesn't begin for another two weeks in prep volleyball but four county teams will be in action this evening with non-conference meets and matches. Plum City will finally get its season underway as they play in a qudrangular at Durand starting at 5 p.m. The Blue Devils first two meets were canceled and rescheduled because of last week's heat wave.  Next Tuesday PC will play in a quad. meet at Colfax and will take on Alma on Oct. 17 in Alma. Today they'll take on Pepin, C-FC and host Durand to start the regular season.

Ellsworth also has a multi-meet this evening as they host a triangular with Glenwood City and St. Croix Central. EHS is off to a 5-4 start this season. In non-conference single matches, Prescott is at Hastings and Elmwood hosts Alma. Both matches begin at 7 p.m.
