Prescott gridders bow out of playoffs

SOMERSET - Despite committing five turnovers, the No. 4 ranked Somerset High School football team was still able to get past Prescott in a WIAA Division 4, Level 2 playoff game Friday evening.

Prescott took the early lead 7-0 on a one-yard TD run by quarterback Alex Helmer. But Somerset scored twice in the second quarter to take a 14-7 halftime lead.

The Spartans pulled away midway through the fourth quarter after a 44-yard touchdown run by Max Praschak. He finished with 198 yards rushing.

Somerset improves to 10-1 overall and will play at No. 3 Ellsworth next weekend in a Level 3 match-up. Prescott's season concludes with a 7-4 overall record.
