Ellsworth baseball stays unbeaten with 8-6 win over Bloomer

HAGER CITY - The Ellsworth High School baseball team stayed unbeaten after defeating Bloomer 8-6 in a non-conference game Monday at Brown Field.

The Blackhawks, 0-4 overall, led 4-0 after the top of the second but the Panthers, 6-0 came back by scoring seven unanswered runs by the fourth inning.  EHS held the lead for the duration of the game with Eric McGregor getting the win. Ellsworth was helped by six Bloomer errors.

Dan Giese had two hits and scored a run for the Panthers and teammate Dennis Schutz cracked a double and scored a run also. Bloomer was led by Jacob Kostner, who had two hits, includoing a home run, and three RBIs.

Ellsworth hosts Osceola in a Middle Border Conference contest this afternoon at Brown Field. First pitch is at 5 p.m.
