WIAA regional tournament pairings for baseball released

WIAA regional tournament for prep baseball are set. First round games are on June 3.

In Division 2, both Prescott and Ellsworth have byes in the first round and won't play until the semifinals on June 4.  Ellsworth is the top seed in its bracket and Prescott is No. 2. The Panthers will play either No. 4 seeded Bloomer or No. 5 Altoona in Ellsworth while Prescott faces either No. 3 seed Black River Falls or No. 6 seeded Baldwin-Woodville in Prescott. The regional final will be held one June 6 at the highest remaining seed.

Spring Valley also has a first-round bye in its Division 3 regional bracket. The Cardinals are seeded No. 2 and will face either the No. 3 seed Eau Claire Regis or No. 6 Durand in Spring Valley. 

Both Pierce County's Division 4 teams have first-round games. No. 3 seed Elmwood is at home vs. No. 6 Glenwood City and No. 5 Plum City is at No. 4 Clear Lake.  If Elmwood wins they will play at Prairie Farm in the semifinals. If Plum City wins they will take on Alma/Pepin, the top seed in the tournament.

Sectionals will take place June 10 and the state tournament is June 17-19 in Appleton.
