November 27, 2016
Ellsworth Keith House stood on the north side of Main Street in the area where Cal Butts’ barber shop is now located and down the block to the east. When this building burned in 1886, it was the biggest fire Ellsworth has ever seen. Bucket brigades were in charge of wetting down the neighboring buildings to keep them from burning too.
