This 862-foot guide wall extension is one of the most visible changes that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers made to Lock & Dam No. 3 during its three-year, $70 million improvement project. Other parts of the project include a dike closure, channel dredging and embankment improvements. The corps unveiled the finished lock and dam Friday morning. (Republican Eagle photo by Sarah Gorvin)
