A group of administrators and executive directors from across the state gathered to discuss current health care issues pertinent to their respective facilities with U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson in Marshfield Monday, Aug. 14. Topics included Medicaid, health care reform, and a public hearing for which Johnson said he would fly a few administrators to Washington D.C.

The Spring Valley Health and Rehab Center has seen financial challenges escalate over the last six months. Administrator Kevin Larson said it was important for the nursing home to open up lines of dialogue with the community to keep the facility operating.

This is one of the three sirens located in Spring Valley. Trustee Andy Vorlicek estimated the sirens were likely set up sometime in the 1980's.
