The Barron County Sheriff’s Office identified the missing girl as 13-year-old Jayme Closs, a 5-foot-tall, 100-pound child with green eyes and blonde or strawberry-blonde hair. She was reportedly missing from a Highway 8 home where a distress call was placed at 12:58 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15. Deputies arrived to find two adults dead. Kindergarten through third grade students participated in a fire safety presentation given by firefighters Natalie and Rob from the Prescott Fire Department on Tuesday, Oct. 9. The students learned about what to do in case of a fire at home, where their safe meeting place is, what to do if they catch on fire, the importance of a smoke alarm and the importance of stopping and pulling over if in a car or on a bike when an emergency vehicle is present.
