The Pierce County Sheriff's Office received a report last month about criminal damage to property on two greens at the Clifton Hollow Golf Course. Michael Tschida, Clifton Hollow General Manager, told sheriff's deputies on Monday, July 28, someone went out to the second green and carved a swastika in the grass. Tschida estimated the incident happened on Sunday, July 20 or Monday, July 21. The second incident, Tschida explained, was on or near Saturday, July 26 into Sunday, July 27, as someone carved a swastika and a star into the green on the third hole.
Payback vs. punishment. That was the question Monday as Susan Sterny sat in Pierce County Circuit Court waiting her sentence. Sterny pled guilty in May to two counts of theft greater than $10,000 and one count of fraudulent writings by an officer.
