Mary Jo Wilcoxson, age 69 of rural Hudson, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Mary Jo's life was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 15 at Bethel Lutheran Highlands Church, 504 Stageline Road, Hudson with Pastor Brian Ferguson (Mt. Zion Lutheran) officiating. Burial was in the German Settlement Cemetery in rural River Falls. Her grandchildren served as active casketbearers. Visitation was held on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson and one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday morning.
A 24-year-old Prescott man died early Saturday after his pickup left Hwy. 35 and overturned, ejected him. Jason A. Sandvig, W11660 478th Ave., was pronounced dead by Pierce County deputy medical examiner John Worsing at 2:08 a.m. Pierce authorities were alerted to the town of Oak Grove crash at 1:38 a.m., Saturday. Upon arrival, officers found a 2002 Ford F150 pickup had been traveling southbound on Hwy.
Lynn J. Taplin, Jr., age 82 of Ellsworth, Wis., died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, at the Ellsworth Care Center. Lynn was born June 29, 1927, the son of Lynn D. and Verta B. (Bunce) Taplin in Weston Township, Dunn County, Wis. He was a longtime member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Beldenville. Lynn graduated from Prescott High School with the class of 1945. After school, Lynn entered the U.S. Army and served from March of '46 to Sept of '47. On Aug. 12, 1950, he was united in marriage to Wilma Staats at Red Wing, Minnesota.
Lydia Ann "Lyd" Lien, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, August 26, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born May 23, 1920, to Rudy and Lydia (Mann) Lother. She attended Lindgren Elementary School and graduated from Ellsworth High School. She worked for the SB Foot Tanning Company for 18 years and was the owner of Lyd's Bar in Hager City. She is survived by her son, Gary (Deedra Vokes) Lien of Hager City; a brother, George (Lois Kask) Lother of Diamond Bluff; granddaughter, Lindsay Lien; nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Logan M. Jacobson, age 19 of Spring Valley, died Thursday, Aug. 26 as a result of an automobile accident in Spring Lake Township. Memorial services for Logan will be Sunday, Aug. 30 at 2 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Spring Valley with Rev. Andrew Hinwood and Rev. Peter D. Friberg officiating and with private burial at a later date in the Spring Lake Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley and also one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley is handling arrangements.

Funeral service was on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior's with Rev. John Sutherland officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Military honors were performed by the Kine-Englehart American Legion Post 204 of Ellsworth. Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley handled arrangements.
Lydia Ann "Lyd" Lien, 89, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, August 26, 2009 in her home surrounded by her family. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29 at the Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel with Reverend Robert Reus officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, followed by a luncheon at the Leo C. Peterson American Legion. Joyce Lorraine Bauer, age 73, of Ellsworth, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009 at the Ellsworth Care Center after a battle with various health complications. Joyce was born on Oct. 17, 1935 in Pierce County, the daughter of Henry and Tilla (Rollofson) Walz. She married Willis Bauer on Feb. 18, 1958 in Durand. Joyce enjoyed the great-grandchildren, country music and dancing. Joyce was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Beldenville.
