Roger Hampton, age 64, of Menomonie, Wis., died Saturday, May 23, 2009, due to injuries received in a farm accident. Survivors include his wife Frances, Menomonie; two sons, Craig, Menomonie, and Gary, Barron; three daughters, Jeanne Hampton, Menomonie, Charlene (Steve) Connell, Menomonie, Vicki (Chad) Boettcher, Elk Mound; father-in-law, Joyce Reinertson, Lino Lakes, Minn.; two grandchildren, Roger and Rebekah Connell; one brother and four sisters, Hugh (Mary) Hampton, Emily Hampton, Shirley Hampton, Carol Meyers, Diane (Bill) Smith, all of Spring Valley; other relatives and friends. Harry John Jacobson, 76, of Red Wing, died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at his home in Red Wing. He was born April 30, 1933, to Harold and Elsie (Forsberg) Jacobson. He married Margaret Mathews on July 18, 1953. He worked at Red Wing Shoe Company for 45 years and Joe's Mobil for 34 years. Margaret died on July 24, 2003. He was a 56 year member of First Presbyterian Church, a member of the Red Wing Elks BPOE #845, a charter member of the Red Wing Credit Union, and he helped organize the Indian Head Motorcycle Club in 1954. Norbert J. Rohl, age 32, of Ellsworth, died suddenly at his home. Bert was born on May 21, 1977, in Red Wing, Minn., the son of Carol (Cashman) and Donald Rohl. He was a graduate of Ellsworth High School and married Stacey Gulbranson on May 5, 2007, at English Lutheran Church. He belonged to the Laborers Local 132 and currently was working for Koch Refinery.
Hazel Dial, age 93 of Wilson, Wis., died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home. She is survived by two daughters and one son: Crystal Bloecher of Maplewood, Minn., Jeffry (Kathleen) Dial of Seattle, Wash., and Wendy (Dale) Marcott of Wilson, Wis. Hazel Dial, age 93, of Wilson, Wis. died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home, Elmwood, Wis. A graveside service for Hazel will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Spring Valley with Rev. Andrew Hinwood officiating.
Marie Hulverson, age 98, of Woodville, died Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Park View Home, Woodville. Funeral services Saturday, May 23 at 11 a.m. at the Knapp United Methodist Church with Rev. James Harrington officiating. Burial in the Teegarden Cemetery, Knapp. Visitation Friday from 4-7 p.m. at Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley and also one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday. Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley is handling arrangements.
Stephen Allen Seipel, 46, of Plum City died Monday, May 18, 2009 at his home. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 21, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Maiden Rock, Pastor John Hazen officiating. Burial will be in the Porcupine Cemetery, Frankfort Township, Pepin County. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Kevin "Gopher" H. Laughnan, 51, of Ellsworth, died Friday, May 15, 2009 at his home. Kevin was born Feb. 10, 1958 in Red Wing, Minn., the son of James and Audrey (Christiansen) Laughnan. Gopher worked for various farmers in the area throughout the years. He enjoyed fixing things and adored his nieces and nephew. Kevin is survived by his girlfriend, Shelly Haselman, Ellsworth; two children, Luke and Abbie, Maiden Rock; mother, Audrey (Roger) Christiansen-Eng; siblings, Faye Glaus, Roger (Pauline) Laughnan, and Judy Sawczynec, all of Ellsworth.
Elsie Maxine Kemp, 85, of Arkansaw, Wis, died May 15, 2009 at the Plum City Care Center. The funeral was 11 a.m. Monday at the Arkansaw United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bruce Gardow officiating. Burial will be in the Arkansaw Memorial Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Goodrich Funeral Home in Durand handled arrangements.
Alfred Edward Janisch passed away at home on May 14, 2009 at the age of 68. He was born in Plum City on June 21, 1940 to Adolf and Louise (Bitzner) Janisch. He grew up on the family farm on Lost Creek. He was married on June 12, 1965 to Viola (Langer) Janisch in Spring Valley, Wis. He had three children, Larry (Kristi), Daryl, and Denise (Brian) Jones. He also has three grandchildren, Heather Jones, Andrew Janisch, and Brandon Jones. He served in the Navy from 1958 to 1962. After time in the military, he worked for Erickson's Refrigeration. Virginia T. Fesenmaier, age 94 of Elmwood, died Tuesday, May 13, 2009 at the Country Terrace Assisted Living in Menomonie. Virginia was born on Dec. 28, 1914 in the Township of Eau Galle, rural Dunn County. She was the daughter of Clarence and Frances (Hei) Mulheron. Virginia grew up mostly in the Farm Hill area of rural Elmwood and was a graduate of the Elmwood High School. After school, Virginia worked at the Elmwood Creamery for several years. Virginia married Raymond Fesenmaier on May 24, 1938 at Farm Hill.
