Jack A. Zwolenski, 70, of Ellsworth, died Monday, May 11, 2009 at his home. Jack was born Aug. 26, 1938 in Minneapolis, Minn., the son of John A. and Grace (Fassett) Zwolenski. He was a graduate of Ellsworth High School. On Oct. 11, 1958 Jack married Peggy Dusek at St.
Violet Mathison, age 94, of Woodville, Wis. died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Park View Home, Woodville. Funeral services Wednesday, May 13 at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville with Rev. Keith Anderson officiating. Burial in the Lone Pine Cemetery, Woodville. Visitation Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Nicholas "Nick" Allen Bayer, age 29, of Ellsworth, passed away after a tragic accident on Friday, May 8, 2009. He was born in Red Wing, Minn., on May 26, 1979, to Randy and Sandra (Hanson) Bayer. Nick loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.
Delna Lorraine Hawes, age 55, of Maiden Rock died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Chippewa Falls. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, at the Hill Funeral Home, Ellsworth. Rev. John Hazen will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ellsworth. Norma Burnette Shefveland, age 83, of Ellsworth, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009, at Ellsworth Care Center. She was born in Clarkfield, Minn., on Sept. 9, 1925, to Ludvig and Idella (Christiansen) Peterson. She married Robert Stanley Shefveland; they were married for 62 years. Stan passed away on July 5, 2007. Norma was an active member of English Lutheran Church, the Wisconsin Republican Party, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Norma is survived by five children, Richard D. (Jeanne) Shefveland of West St. Paul, Stanley A.
Lorraine E. Anderson, age 86, died on Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at Nazareth House in Stoughton. She was born on July 6, 1922, to Frank and Hulda (Johnson) Larson. Lorraine was united in marriage to Marvin W.
Lois Reinhardt, age 83, of Woodville died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at the Baldwin Area Medical Center. Funeral services were Monday, May 11, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Woodville, with Rev. Wayne Hilgendorf officiating. Burial is in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley, is handling arrangements.
Rexford Hunter, 74, of Firth, Ida, formerly of Bay City, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at Bingham Extended Care Center. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, at the Spencer Cemetery under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley, Ida.
Eugene Harold Manfred, age 72, of Red Wing, died on Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at his home. Gene was born on April 20, 1937, in Red Wing, the son of Earl and Helen (Froisland) Manfred. Gene grew up in the Ellsworth area and graduated from Ellsworth High School. He worked as a deputy for the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, Ralston Purina in Hager City, and Lee Lines in Red Wing. Gene was united in marriage to Kathy Klecker on May 18, 1963, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth.
Earl T. Field, age 92 of Elmwood, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at the Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie. Earl was born on March 30, 1917, in the Salem Township, rural Pierce County, Wis. He was the son of Norman and Mary (Morgan) Field. He spent the majority of his life in the Maiden Rock/Elmwood Area. Earl married LaVeral Kitchner on Sept. 26, 1940. He farmed just east of Elmwood for over 20 years. Earl also worked construction for most of these years. Earl served in the Armed Air Force, 8th Infantry, during WWII.
