Floyd Spencer Stockwell: Feb. 13, 1918-April 30, 2009 Floyd Stockwell died April 30, 2009 at Falcon Lake Nursing Home, Zapata, Texas after a battle with lung cancer and atherosclerosis. Floyd was born Feb. 13, 1918 in Ellsworth, Wis. He served in the United States Army Air Corps from August 1941 until his honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant, Nov. 1945. Serving as an airplane mechanic in England and France, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the American Defense Ribbon and the American Theater Service Medal. After his discharge he lived in Red Wing, Minn.
Richard G. Hanson, age 55, of Ellsworth, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2009, involved in a tragic motorcycle accident. He was born Jan. 12, 1954, in River Falls. He was the son of Roy and Doris (Bredahl) Hanson. Richard grew up and lived all his life in Trimbelle Township on County O and graduated from the Ellsworth High School. Richard was in his first derby at the Gaslight when he was 16 and continued to be involved for the next 20 years. Richard married Carlene Kuhlmann on Sept.
Jerry Lee Zimmer, age 64, of Bay City, Wis., passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 1, 2009, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn. He was born the eighth child to Lambert J. and Matilda M. (Hildeman) Zimmer on Dec. 11, 1944, in Fairmont, Minn. He would graduate from high school there in 1962 and then enlist in the US Navy, serving from 1962-65. On March 11, 1963, he was united in marriage to Connie Sue Hansen in Fairmont. They would be blessed with four children: Deb, Jerri Lynn, Scott, and Todd.
Everett O. Nelson, 95, born April 9, 1914 in Ellsworth, passed away May 2, 2009. Funeral service Wednesday, May 6 at 11 a.m. with visitation from 10-11 a.m. at Spielman Mortuary, 344 W University Ave., St. Paul, MN 55103, 651-222-6363.
Gailynn R. Poston, age 60, of Ellsworth (Trimbelle) died accidentally Friday, May 1, 2009. Gailynn was born March 28, 1949, in River Falls, Wis. He lived on the family farm in Trimbelle most of his life, farming the land as well as working for 22 years at S.B.
